DevOps is a way of working that brings software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops) together. Instead of having separate teams that hand work off to each other, DevOps teams collaborate throughout the entire life of a product from writing code to running it in production.
A DevOps engineer is the person who builds and maintains the systems that allow software to be developed, tested, and deployed efficiently. They are the bridge between development teams and production infrastructure.
