What Is DevOps?

DevOps is a way of working that brings software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops) together. Instead of having separate teams that hand work off to each other, DevOps teams collaborate throughout the entire life of a product from writing code to running it in production.

Who Is a DevOps Engineer?

A DevOps engineer is the person who builds and maintains the systems that allow software to be developed, tested, and deployed efficiently. They are the bridge between development teams and production infrastructure.

DevOps engineering is one of the most in-demand roles in the technology industry. Companies of every size from startups to large enterprises need people who can manage modern software infrastructure. The skills taught in this course directly map to what employers are looking for.

Who Can Participate

The only formal requirement is being 16 years of age or older. No previous technical background is expected.

This program is particularly well-suited for:

  • Students and young people (16+) exploring a career in technology
  • People making a career change who want to enter the IT field
  • Junior developers who want to add DevOps knowledge to their existing skills
  • Anyone curious about how modern software is built, deployed, and maintained.

The non-technical interview at the end of the application process is not a test; it is a short conversation to understand your goals and make sure the program is the right fit for you.
